Who we are
Hadaway and Hadaway Solicitors LLP, 58 Howard Street, North Shields, NE30 1AL, a firm of solicitors, collects, uses and is responsible for personal information about you, the Data Subject. When we do this we are the ‘controller’ of this information for the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation and other applicable data protection laws. This data sharing enables us to store your data securely, acquire professional accreditations to ensure we offer the best service to you and our clients, store your legal papers securely for the required retention period and seek specialist, expert assistance when required during the course of your legal transaction.
We will share personal information with law enforcement agencies if required by applicable law.
We will not share your personal information with any other third parties without your consent.
Transfer of your information outside the European Economic Area (EEA)
We will never transfer your personal information outside the EEA or to an international organisation.
How long will we store your personal data
We will store your personal data for a period determined by the type of transaction undertaken on your behalf taking into account the risk of any future professional negligence claims, the requirements of our insurers and any requirement to retain legal documents.
Consent
We are relying on your explicit consent to share your personal data with third parties not referred to above. You provide this consent when required during the course of your legal transaction.
You have the right to withdraw this consent at any time, but this will not affect the lawfulness of any processing activity we have carried out prior to you withdrawing your consent but we may not be able to fulfil our contractual obligations to you if you do so. Automated Decision Making
We do not use any automated decision making to process your information.
Our Security
Personal Data is stored in electronic format on our server which is located in a high security data centre within the UK. Access to the server is restricted to Hadaway and Hadaway Solicitors LLP’s staff.
A firewall is used to block any other access to this server and our internal systems. We also use software throughout our network to guard against all forms of malicious cyber based attacks, this software is kept up to date with patches and software updates at all times. No personal data is stored on portable devices. We are Cyber Essentials certified, a government operated scheme to help firms ensure cyber security.
Personal Data is also stored on a paper based file which is secured within our premises. Archived paper files are stored in a secure off site location.
Future Processing
We do not intend to process your personal information for any reason other than stated within this privacy notice. If this changes, we will inform you in writing.

We constantly review our internal privacy practices and may change this policy from time to time. When we do we will inform you in writing.
